Alex Wolfers
Osteopath
Staying active and maintaining pain free movement throughout your life is a value that Alex focuses on throughout your treatment journey. Alex’s goal is to be able to get you back doing what you love, without the fear of pain and injuries.
Are you experiencing neck pain, headaches or migraines? These are just 3 of the concerns that Alex regularly treats and has a strong interest in. When treating, she uses a range of techniques throughout your appointment including:
- soft tissue massage
- trigger point dry needling
- muscle energy techniques
- taping
- posture advice
- manipulation or joint mobilisation.
In the long term, prevention is better than a cure. Alex will work with you to develop preventative techniques including stretches, exercises and other techniques mixed with the odd maintenance treatment, to keep you on track!
Alex also has an interest in and regularly treats:
- hip pain
- overuse conditions
- sporting injuries
- postural problems
- disc herniations/injuries
Alex also spends her time as a clinic supervisor at Southern Cross University, working with upcoming Osteopaths in Australia. She has worked in private clinics in Sydney and Brisbane for the last 12 years, which has led to a range of invaluable experience prioritising patient care, pain relief and management. Her interest in Osteopathy and how the body functions started from her a curiosity of how the body produces pain and her own experience with childhood migraines, causing a determination to find a solution that was effective and holistic.
Alexandra Wolfers graduated with a Masters in Osteopathy from the University of Western Sydney in 2008 and is a current member of the Australian Osteopathy Association.
Completed the Watson’s Headache approach, which is a manual therapy, non-invasive approach to diagnosing and treating the upper neck structures responsible for causing headaches and migraines.
